How do I run a face scan?
Open Maxxr → tap Scan → either capture a new photo with the front camera or pick one from your photo library. Make sure your face is well-lit, looking straight at the camera, with no glasses or hat. The AI will return your scores and insights in a few seconds.
My scan failed or said "no face detected".
This usually means the photo was too dark, blurry, angled, or your face was partially covered. Try again with a clear, front-facing photo in even lighting, no sunglasses or hats, and your full face visible. If it keeps failing, check your internet connection — analysis runs over the network.
How is my photo processed?
When you submit a scan, your photo is sent securely (HTTPS) to our AI provider (OpenAI's GPT-4o vision via a Cloudflare proxy) for analysis, then the results come back to your phone. Neither provider stores your photo or uses it for training. Maxxr does not keep your photo on our servers — your scans live only on your device. See the Maxxr privacy policy for full details.
How do I delete a scan?
Open Maxxr → go to your scan history → swipe left on any scan and tap Delete. The scan and its photo are removed from your device immediately.
How do I delete all my scans and data?
In Maxxr, go to Profile / Settings → "Reset history" to clear all scans and data. Or, uninstall Maxxr — that removes everything stored on your device. We don't keep your face data on our servers, so there's nothing for us to delete on our end.
The app says it can't access my camera or photos.
Maxxr needs Camera permission to take a scan and Photos permission to import existing pictures. Go to iOS Settings → Maxxr → and turn on Camera and Photos. Then reopen the app.
Does Maxxr identify me or use facial recognition?
No. Maxxr does not perform facial recognition, identity verification, or create biometric templates. It only analyses appearance features (skin, proportions, symmetry) on the photo you submit, returns scores and tips, and discards the image after the analysis.
Can I use Maxxr without an internet connection?
No. The AI analysis runs on a remote model, so an internet connection is required to scan. Your existing scan history can still be viewed offline.
The app crashed or something went wrong. What now?
Try fully closing the app and reopening it. If the problem persists, email us at vitalappsltd@gmail.com with a quick description (and a screenshot if possible) and we'll look into it.
